TLG Gives Back:
Closing the distance on healthcare access
Share this post
TLG Gives Back has always been core to how we operate. It’s one way we put our values to work. This year, we decided to focus our energy. We’ve selected Remote Area Medical (RAM) as our partner, a nonprofit delivering free medical, dental, and vision care to communities where access isn’t just limited. It’s absent.
Why RAM
Remote Area Medical has been delivering free care since 1985. RAM operates through volunteer-powered pop-up clinics. Anyone who needs care can walk in. In 2025 alone, RAM served more than 32,000 individuals across 27 states and provided over $16 million in free care.
That mission resonated with us. A lot of our work at TLG lives inside the healthcare and life sciences space. We help organizations understand patients. What the experience actually feels like from their side. RAM takes that understanding and acts on it directly. The connection felt real.
What Our Partnership Looks Like
We made an initial cash donation of $20,000 to support RAM’s clinic operations. Linkers are also assembling patient care kits, another $7,000 in supplies going directly to people receiving care.
On June 1st, Linkers in Atlanta and Durham are spending the day volunteering together. That’s the official kick-off, but not the end of it. As the year unfolds, we’re exploring opportunities for Linkers to volunteer at RAM clinics directly and are in conversations about pro bono research support that could help RAM better understand the communities they serve.
What “Healthcare Equity” Means to TLG
Healthcare equity is really about access. Who has it and who doesn’t. RAM’s answer to that question is practical: find the people who can’t get to care and bring care to them.
For TLG, supporting this work is an extension of something we already believe. Understanding people is only valuable when it leads somewhere. Research that never reaches the patient doesn’t help the patient. The logic is the same.
As our TLG Gives Back pod put it:
“We believe that breakthroughs are only true breakthroughs when they are accessible to all.”
What Comes Next
June 1st is our kick-off. We’ll share more as the year unfolds. In the meantime, if you want to learn more about RAM’s work, visit ramusa.org.
