Creating clarity with heart
Managing Partner, Raja Gupta, on the human side of research

Raja Gupta’s journey at The Link Group is rooted in curiosity, instinct, and a love of connecting the dots between human behavior and business strategy. As a Managing Partner, Raja Gupta brings warmth and a sharp eye for what matters most to every project and partnership.
Finding a calling in curiosity and connection
Raja didn’t set out to work in market research.
He found the field in college, and something just clicked.
“The idea that I could spend my days understanding how people think, how they make decisions, and how they behave — and then use those insights to fuel great marketing — felt like a perfect fit,” Raja shares.
He’s always trusted his instincts. But over time, research taught him how powerful it can be when gut feeling meets evidence.
“It’s such a great feeling when what we uncover actually shapes something real in the world,” he says.
For Raja, every project is a chance to help brands see people as they truly are and to make sure decisions are grounded in reality, not just theory.
A new appreciation
Early in his career, Raja left TLG to explore new challenges and expand his toolkit. What ultimately pulled him back was something he couldn’t quite replicate elsewhere: a genuine sense of belonging.
“When I returned, what stood out was how much the culture had stayed the same — even as the work grew more complex and ambitious,” Raja recalls. “The trust, the kindness, and the way people look out for each other — all of that is still here.”
Coming back also brought a new opportunity for strategic leadership and a deeper sense of ownership in shaping TLG’s future.
“Getting to build on what made this place special, and push us into what comes next, is incredibly fulfilling.”
The magic of clarity
Raja lights up when a complicated brief suddenly makes sense or when a client sees their challenge through a new lens.
“I get so much energy from those moments when the fog lifts and we find a way forward,” he says. “That’s when research is at its best: when insight leads to action, and you see it actually matter in people’s lives.”
For Raja, these aren’t abstract wins. They’re deeply personal.
When a client discovers a path no one saw before and that insight carries through to a campaign that reaches real customers, Raja finds meaning in knowing the work isn’t just smart. It’s human.
Putting people first
If there’s a throughline in Raja’s approach to client partnership, it’s listening.
“Getting to the heart of the business decision and understanding what’s really at stake is where everything starts,” he explains.
Raja is big on stripping away buzzwords and getting to the real problem. The one thing that, if solved, changes everything.
He’s intentional about framing questions so the answers actually drive action.
“Clients feel most confident when they see themselves — and their purpose — reflected in the work we do together,” Raja says. “That’s when you know the research matters.”
Living TLG’s values every day
Ask Raja what makes a great teammate, and his answer comes quickly.
“Humanity, passion, adaptability, and integrity. That’s the shortlist.”
He gravitates toward colleagues who care deeply about clients and one another. People who show up ready to pitch in, learn, and lead with purpose.
“The people who thrive here aren’t waiting for someone else to step up,” he says. “We look out for each other, and we put everything we have into doing good work. Every time.”
“Passion and humanity aren’t optional here,” Raja adds. “They’re foundational to who we are.”
For Raja, the future at TLG is about building on what already makes the company special, doubling down on curiosity, clarity, and human connection. Through every change, he believes these values will keep TLG and its clients moving forward with integrity and purpose.
